How we handle information on this surface

Antique Traces is an editorial and archival publication operated by BCIHC, Inc. (“BCIHC”, “we”, “us”). This notice describes how we process personal data when you browse the Archive, Private Collections, or submit an institutional inquiry.

Controller

BCIHC, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5516, San Francisco, CA 94114, United States. Contact (Antique Traces): antiquetraces@bcihc.com.

Data we process

Inquiry forms. Name, email, message text, and the related opera identifier when you request information. We use this solely to respond through the institutional desk.

Technical logs. Standard server and reverse-proxy logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested path) for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.

Console sessions. Authenticated operators may hold a session cookie for administrative access. Console credentials are not public.

Purpose and legal basis

We process inquiry data to answer your request (legitimate interest / pre-contractual steps at your initiative). Logs support integrity and security of the service. We do not sell personal data and do not use inquiry content for advertising profiles.

Retention

Inquiry records are retained as long as needed to handle the request and for a reasonable archival period for operational continuity, then deleted or anonymized. Logs follow ordinary infrastructure rotation.

Sharing

We do not operate a marketplace. Personal data is not shared with third-party buyers or sellers for commercial brokerage. Processors that host infrastructure (e.g. hosting, email transit) act under our instructions.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction by writing to antiquetraces@bcihc.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority where available.

Antique Traces does not intermediate payments or off-platform transfers of physical items (see Terms, Art. 11).
